Project “First Steps”

Carried out by FAM under the Google Global Partnership Program, implemented by Internews, this project was designed to enhance the digital security of journalists, media workers, and human rights defenders who are at high risk of online attacks.

Implemented between October 2024 and February 2025, the initiative focused on developing and delivering digital safety training, incorporating Google Online Safety products such as the Advanced Protection Program, Enhanced Protection Program, Titan Security Keys, and Project Shield.

Project Activities:

• Develop a tailored digital safety curriculum and training materials, integrating Google’s security products.
• Equip at least 1,000 high-risk users with critical skills to navigate and safeguard the information space through targeted training.

This initiative aims to empower vulnerable groups with practical digital safety skills, strengthening their resilience against online threats.
