Innovate Moldova Program

Innovate Moldova Program is a strategic national initiative designed to strengthen the country’s innovation ecosystem, increase business resilience, and accelerate the transition toward a competitive, knowledge-based economy connected to the European market.

Funded by Sweden and the United Kingdom, the program is implemented in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Moldova and stakeholders from the private, education, and associative sectors, including public institutions, universities, research centers, business associations, entrepreneurship support organizations, and the startup ecosystem.

Through Innovate Moldova, a national network of innovation centers and specialized hubs has been developed and interconnected—Artcor, Mediacor, ZipHouse, FabLab, Clasa Viitorului, Nortek, Cybercor, Agrotek Arena, TechZone, and GreenTech Hub—totaling over 10,000 m² of infrastructure dedicated to innovation, education–industry collaboration, and applied solution development. In parallel, the program contributes to the development of tech parks and infrastructure for advanced industries by supporting governance, attracting strategic partners, and connecting them to international ecosystems.

A key pillar of the program is investment in people. Innovate Moldova develops digital and STEAM skills for children, youth, and adults, with a strong focus on inclusion, gender equality, and regional access, contributing to a workforce prepared for the economy of the future.

For the private sector, the program provides direct support to enhance competitiveness and access external markets, helping SMEs and startups adopt digital technologies, modernize processes, align with European standards, access finance, and promote internationally. These interventions are complemented by partnerships with business associations and accelerators to ensure sustainable long-term impact.

In cooperation with state institutions, Innovate Moldova also supports the digitalization of public services relevant to businesses, including through the development and promotion of the integrated government platform EVO, which simplifies interaction between entrepreneurs and public administration.

The program supports key high-growth sectors: ICT, startups, engineering, the creative industries, light manufacturing, e-commerce, and the green economy—contributing to economic modernization and positioning the Republic of Moldova as an emerging ecosystem for innovation, entrepreneurship, and European integration.
