Civic Campaign #StopWar

February 27, 2022 – At the initiative of the National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, an Initiative Group was created for the development and implementation of a national-level Civic Information and Communication Campaign, which is to be carried out during the state of emergency with the contribution of civil society organizations, mass-media institutions, opinion leaders, thematic experts, and communication specialists.

The Initiative Group for the Civic Campaign #StopWar (initial generic name) is currently developing a Campaign Plan that will focus on three objectives:

  1. Promoting solidarity with Ukraine by encouraging people to offer aid to refugees.
  2. Promoting pro-peace messages among the population across the Republic of Moldova to counter pro-war propaganda and fake news, and simultaneously to build greater cohesion within society.
  3. Preventing the spread of panic and encouraging the population to remain calm and well-informed from trustworthy sources, including through actions to combat disinformation.
