Project “Viitor Conectat”
The “Connected Future” project is an initiative dedicated to supporting Roma communities in the Republic of Moldova through digital education, professional orientation, and the promotion of a safe online environment for children, youth, and families.
It is carried out with the support of the Building Resilience in the Eastern Neighbourhood II (BREN II) program and aims to provide real opportunities for personal and professional development for individuals with limited access to education and opportunities, contributing to a more inclusive and equitable society.
Project Objectives and Activities
From December 2025 to March 2026, approximately 120 Roma youth and adults from Otaci, Edineț, and Soroca will participate in activities focused on digital literacy, career guidance, and personal skill development. These activities are designed to help them use technology with greater confidence and increase their chances of professional integration.
In parallel, the project pays special attention to online safety and media literacy. Through school visits and local information activities, over 500 children and parents will learn how to:
- Navigate the internet safely.
- Recognize online risks.
- Protect their personal data.
The project is implemented by the Orange Moldova Foundation, in partnership with the Foundation for Advancement of the Republic of Moldova. It emphasizes strengthening local capacities by collaborating with public authorities, youth centers, and community mediators. This approach seeks not only to transfer knowledge but also to build a sustainable support framework for the involved communities.
About the Grant and the BREN II Program
The project is funded through the Building Resilience in the Eastern Neighbourhood II (BREN II) program, which supports civil society initiatives that enhance human security for women and marginalized groups in Eastern neighboring countries.
In Moldova, between 2025 and 2027, BREN II prioritizes projects that address:
- Gender equality and social cohesion.
- Inclusion of minorities and conflict-sensitive approaches.
- Accessibility for people with disabilities and vulnerable communities.
The BREN II project is implemented by IWPR and supported by the Integrated Security Fund (ISF) of the United Kingdom.
