FAM is a Moldovan non-profit (est. 2005) advancing innovation-led growth, skills, and EU alignment. We work with government, industry, universities, and donors to strengthen SMEs and startups across ICT, creative media, apparel, engineering, cybersecurity, and trade.
Innovate Moldova strengthens the national innovation ecosystem, boosts workforce skills (especially youth and women), supports EU market integration, and promotes inclusive, green, and digital growth—working closely with public institutions, private sector leaders, academia, and civil society.
The Role (at a glance)
You will help FAM and Innovate Moldova track results, learn what works, and use data to improve decisions. This includes designing practical tools, collecting and validating data with partners, running learning sessions, and turning insights into clear dashboards, briefs, and success stories. You’ll contribute to Innovate Moldova and other FAM programs.
This position is open to early-career professionals. Final title/grade (Officer vs. Manager) and onboarding plan will match your experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve simple, reliable MEL tools (forms, trackers, light dashboards).
 - Collect, clean, and organize data from partners, grantees, and activities.
 - Track indicators and milestones; keep results up to date for reports and dashboards.
 - Support periodic data quality checks and basic analysis (trends, gaps, lessons).
 - Draft short result summaries, success stories, and inputs for reports/newsletters.
 - Provide friendly MEL coaching to colleagues and grantees (how to capture outcomes).
 - Coordinate with technical leads to align MEL with work plans and budgets.
 - Help prepare donor reports and contribute to grant/portfolio reviews.
 - (As you grow) contribute to evaluation designs and light impact assessments.
 
What You Bring
- Experience: 1–3 years in MEL, data analysis, research, economics, statistics, public policy, social sciences, or program management (strong recent graduates welcome).
 - Skills: Solid Excel/Google Sheets; comfort with basic data cleaning and charts. Experience with Power BI, Kobo and other platforms) is a plus—training provided.
 - Mindset: Curious, organized, proactive, and attentive to detail; able to turn data into clear, actionable messages.
 - Languages: Romanian fluency required; English working proficiency preferred (training/mentoring available).
 - Nice to have: Familiarity with donor projects (e.g., Sweden/UK/USAID/EU), survey tools, qualitative methods (interviews, focus groups), and basic statistics.
